[REVIEW] NINTENDO PRESENTS: STYLE BOUTIQUE/STYLE SAVVY
It is not hard to imagine why Style Boutique (Europe), also known as Style Savvy in the States, on Nintendo DS is topping the charts now. With its unique game play and original concept, it's no wonder it can get so addictive!
Commercial: Style Savvy™ (North American Promo)
You start off as a Sales Associate at Primavera. The Boutique Manager, Grace, shows you the ropes on how to successfully manage a boutique, and slowly brings introduction to the main characters in the game.
Towards the end of your training, you will be tasked to run your own boutique (I named mine LumiĆ by the way) with aims to unlock all available store upgrades, cosmetic and hairstyles, managing appropriate styles for each season, styling your customers and mannequins and by providing fashion advice. By going online you can download new items, some of which have been designed by real fashion brands.
Though overall positive, Style Boutique is not without flaws. This game can get highly repetitive after a while and you’ll probably be extremely irked by the music. This however, can be easily overcome if styles are being shifted every 7-10 days and by putting music on mute mode. I share a love-hate relationship with Style Boutique to be honest; I would hate to love and love to hate this game. It’s complicating I know.
